M. Esser, Lady Bears dominate 3-Wall Nationals and other results from Toledo
Missouri State women dominated at the 75th USHA National Three-Wall Championships. Alumnus Mikaila Esser continued her dominance on the three-wall court, winning her third straight Women’s Open Singles three-wall national title by defeating Megan Dorneker 21-7, 21-17. Esser went on to complete the slam by partnering with current Missouri State star Elaina Schoene to win the Women’s Open Doubles National Title. Esser and Schoene defeated Missouri State alum Ashleigh Sharkey and her doubles partner Kristen Hughes in the final. Schoene also won the Women’s B Singles title. On the men’s side, alum Sam Esser made it to the semi-finals of the Men’s Open Singles losing to eventual champion, Sean Lenning, as well as made it to the semi-finals of the Men’s Open Doubles. Nick Wilson and Elaina Schoene also gave their time as volunteers to help the tournament run successfully. The Bears were again very successful in national competition.
